Why can't I purchase less than one tray (90 units) of chips?

The SBL2e microcontrollers are pre-programmed and packaged in moisture-proof trays of 90 units. If the tray package is opened, then the microcontrollers would need to be dry baked in an oven and repackaged before they could be used in production. Therefore, the microcontrollers are sold in increments of a package/tray size, which is 90 units

If you only need a few parts, the alternative would be to purchase some SBL2e modules and remove the processor components. It was our hope that a customer can fully evaluate the processor and software using the SBL2e module so the tray size is not an issue for production.
